60 Application of Workspace Measurement and Positioning System in Aircraft Manufacturing Assembly

With the development of digitization, automation and flexibility in aircraft manufacturing assembly, digitized measurement system becomes an important component in fl exible assembly technology. Work-space Measurement and Positioning System (wMPS) is a novel network system which can realize precise measurement in large-scale space. It has the characteristics of high precision, wide range and multi-tasks. Based on the system principle and architecture, the application in aircraft assembly is introduced. In consideration of huge number of components, different sizes and complex shapes, utilizing wMPS as a global control network combined with terminal accurate measurement to achieve high effi ciency, high precision and low-cost digital assembly is proposed. As a new type of digitized measurement system, wMPS will have a signifi cant application prospect in aviation manufacturing.

63 Research on Method of Indirect Traceability of Laser Tracker Through Group Technology

The method on proving data consistency of each laser tracker through the share transfer standard which is one of China’s general quantity value transfer method is put forward . The difference of the result that each laser tracker gets when they calibrate the same reference length is investigated, as well as the infl uences engendered by the different spot environment on the comparison result. The method of indirect traceability of laser tracker through group technology is discussed. New pathways toward comparing traceability interlink are researched.

65 Research and Implementation of Geometric Element Fitting Algorithm Based on Least-Squares

Error evaluation is one of the important tests in the process of part inspection. Geometric fi tting is the core content in the error evaluation based on the coordinate measuring. Based on the analysis of the common geometric elements, the parameterized mathematic model of geometric elements is constructed and the frame of the fi tting algorithms is proposed. Meanwhile the detail of fitting algorithms and the initial value of the optimization algorithms are illustrated. Then algorithms are carried out on the MATLAB platform and the fitting results are compared with the results of NIST. The comparision shows that the fi tting algorithms are feasible.

The rapid inspection method of aircraft parts based on 3D digital model is discussed . The technical implementation route of the rapid inspection complex aircraft parts is explored, especially the geometric engineering quantities of the parts and their assembly, taking account of the digital inspection equipments. The research highlights of digital rapid inspection are presented according to the requirement of aircraft digital development.

72 Application of Digital Measuring System in Aircraft Assembly

Digital measurement technology and system are the important component of modern digital technology in aircraft assembly,which is applied in the assembly process of modern aircraft, not only ensure the accuracy of aircraft assembly, but improve the production efficiency,the full digital transmission is achieved from part design and manufacture to assembly process of aircraft products simultaneously.Several digital measurement systems are studied, which are widely used in aircraft assembly currently including laser tracker measurement system, three-dimensional laser scanning system,digital camera measurement system and indoor GPS system, the working principle and characteristics of the system are described and its application in aircraft assembly is discussed. According to the requirement of developing the digital assembly technology in the domestic, the application of digital measurement technology and system is prospected.

76 CT Reconstruction for Limited Angle

Computed Tomography (CT) has made a revolutionary impact on medical diagnosis and industrial non-destructive testing. However, it is not always possible to acquire projection data through a complete CT angular range in some real applications, such as imaging system design constraints. The conventional and most commonly used method for reconstruction from tomographic projections is the analytical reconstruction technique which is not so adaptable to incomplete projection data and results in poor reconstructions with severe artifacts in limited angle cases. Two reconstruction algorithms for limited angle cases are illustrated and the performance of algorithms is shown.

79 Influence of Position Error of Composite Co-curing Structure on NC Drilling and Error Compensation

During the co-curing process of composite aircraft structure, random position error of I-beams is diffi cult to be avoided, besides, position error exists during installation . As a result, both rivet holes on the I-beams and holes on single-surface curve skin are diffi cult even impossible to be drilled automatically. To realize the process of NC drilling, on-line inspecting position error of structure feature points and amending existing NC programs are proposed. The principle of position error measurement of feature points, the numerical error model and the strategy for amending the NC programs are presented. This work provides a solid foundation for the NC machining of certain composite structures on aircraft.

83 Integrated Solution and Key Technology for 3D Coordinate Measuring

During the process of measuring a complex shape product in the aerospace industry, it is required to get different types of geometric elements including free-form surfaces, geometric features, and some specific points. In this paper, an integrated system is introduced for measuring objects via several methods such as photogrammetry, binocular stereo vision, and hand-held probe measuring, and the measuring data is unifi ed in one coordinate system. It makes more easily to reconstruct curves, surfaces and geometric features from the data . Some key technologies of the system are presented such as the basic framework, the calibration, the registration of stereo image pairs, the reference points determination using multiple views and so on. For demonstration, several complex shaped aerospace products are measured.

87 Construction of Process Database for Typical Composite Component

Based on summarizing typical processing feature of composite components in aerospace field, a process database prototype system for typical components is constructed by using Oracle database management system, B/S architectural structures and Structs framework. The database developed includes machining parameters database for typical feature structure of common composite , program library for digital-controlled processing, common tool library, machining process of some typical components, etc.. It possesses good expansibility and maintainability, and can provide corresponding technical support for digital processing of composites of related enterprises.
