Abstract:Currently, lightweight design of launcher is an important and challenging topic in airborne weapons system.
Carbon fiber composite materials are widely used in manufacturing load-bearing components with complicated shapes.
Therefore, such material is important in the lightweight design of airborne weapon systems. This paper studies a typical
structure of airborne launcher. After structural optimization, the component made of carbon fiber composite material is
manufactured using resin transfer molding (RTM). Experimental studies were performed on the component alone as well
as the whole assembly. This paper studies the manufacturing of load-bearing component using composite materials, and is
intended to provide theoretical guidelines for the applications of carbon fiber composite material in related area.
