Abstract:To solve the key problems such as low efficiency, large error and poor quality for drilling in fuselage docking area of large aircraft assembly in China, a new type of automatic drilling device-circumferential track drilling system was designed and analyzed in this paper. Firstly, assembly line of large aircraft and the requirements of fuselage docking were introduced, and the advantages and drawbacks of various automatic drilling technologies were analyzed and compared. Secondly, the design scheme of circumferential track drilling system was given, the working process and structure of circumferential track, arc track and end effector and so on were described in detail. Thirdly, the overall layout of circumferential track was proposed, and the theoretical calculation method for the preload of supporting feet was proposed through the force analysis of circumferential track. Finally, a design example was given, finite element software was used to solve the deformation of circumferential track, and a test platform for circumferential track drilling system was built to verify drilling effect of the system. Results show that circumferential track drilling system works stably and can meet the requirements of drilling in aircraft fuselage docking area.
