Abstract Crackle often appears on the surface of the traditional stretching tool during its producing. The paper analyses
the causes of cracking on the surface of machinable plastic stretching tool for aircraft skin, a new structure for machinable
plastic stretching tool is presented, while crackle could be prevented.
