Abstract Electrochemical machining process simulation for the blade of aviation engine with complex boundary
plays an important role in the machining prediction. Traditional process simulation relies on finite element method which
needs to solve the remeshing problem and computational accuracy problem. In this paper, we present an approach for
improving the simulation precision based on isogeometric method, which employs NURBS basis function to replace the
original Lagrange basis function in the finite element method and solves the Dirichlet boundary condition’s infliction problem.
In the process of simulation, the corrosion displacement is translated into the displacement of the control point which
avoids the computation time of remeshing and promotes the simulation precision, as demonstrated in the case of this paper.
