Abstract The technology of model-based definition makes three-dimensional model to be the sole basis in product design and production process, its application must change the traditional mode of production. In the background of model-based defi nition, aircraft digital assembly process design and application mode is proposed. In this mode, through the process design and detailed process design, three-dimensional assembly orders are constructed, which provides the basis for visualization of on-site assembly.
