Abstract Superalloy is a typical difficult-to-machine material. When cutting GH4169 by PCBN tools, it has large cutting forces, high cutting temperature, and difficult chip shape control. As a new processing technology, high pressure cooling can effectively reduce the cutting temperature and improve the breaking capacity of the chips. In this paper, the theoretical analysis of chip bending moment under high pressure cooling was carried out to obtain the theoretical model of chip bending moment. Secondly, based on the experimental study, the influences of different cutting parameters, cooling pressure and tool chamfering parameters on chip length, crimp radius and chip width were studied, which provide a reference for further promoting chip control.
