Abstract There ware coarse-grained defects on the surface of 2014 material for commercial aircraft (material specification: L164/L165/L167) and 2B06OB material during the stretch forming: By making a lot of process tests, the causes of coarse grain are analyzed and found out, material properties are clear, and a fi nal solution is proposed.
