Friction tester(UMT-200)and surface topograply (Talysurf CCI 2000) were used to characterize the friction and wear behavior of carbon/carbon composites, copper alloy and copper alloy with MoS 2 coating. In the result, under the same condition, the friction coeffi cient of copper alloy is approximately 0.65, the friction coefficient of copper alloy with MoS 2 coating lies between 0.25 and 0.3, moreover its liner wear rate is merely one third to that of copper alloy. However because of the destroy of MoS 2 coating during the casting experimental stage, its friction coeffi cient increased to around 0.35. The friction coefficient of carbon/carbon composites always kept at 0.12~0.13, and its liner wear rate is just one sixth as much as that of copper alloy. The wear-resistance and self-lubrication properties of carbon/carbon composites were performed well.
