Abstract Based on the experience of T-type composite stiffened panels, technical issues, such as the fabrication of Z-type stringers, the control of thickness and spring-back on Z-type stringers, the curing deformation predictions of the panel, the control of stringer axis and the trajectory planning of ATL, were mainly researched. By introducing the staggered distribution mode of unvulcanized rubber pad at the fillet, the uniform transmission of pressure of the stringer was ensured. The rational layout of the metal core mold in the semi closed cavity of the Z-typed stringer was used to realize the stable attitude control during curing process. Using the finite element simulation model and the secondary development function of the simulation model, the efficient analysis of the curing deformation of the stiffened panel was achieved. Finally, the overall structure molding and the collaborative control of internal and external quality for Z-type stiffened panel are realized, which provides experience for the development of similar products.
