Abstract Due to the low-rigidity of the thin-walled parts, it was difficult to guarantee the quality of NC finish machining
by conventional single geometric programming. According to the multi-step iterative compensation method, the
tool path optimization algorithm based on cutting deflection error compensation was proposed by reconstructing compensatory
surfaces of ruled surface to correct the original tool paths. Finally, the cutting experiment was carried out based on the
algorithm. The result shows that the method of the machining deformation error compensation is correct and reliable.
