The necessity of the configuration management is proposed according to the essential features of complex engineering system and the untamed quality of development process. Key technical activities including configuration identification process, configuration baseline control, configuration status accounting and configuration audit during configuration management progress are analyzed based on the work breakdown structure of aircraft system. A better architecture of configuration management and the importance of flow process management in the architechture are presented.
