Considering the characteristics and adaptability of analytic hierarchy process (AHP)，a hierarchical model for supplier evaluation based on AHP is proposed．The eight key elements including quality， delivery，cost，capability，system，consciousness，credit， relation and their corresponding sub—elements are thoroughly analyzed．The application procedure of the model is given by using AHP and the algorithm case is analyzed．The model can be applied to evaluate the comprehensive capabilities of the alternative suppliers，and fits for suppliers from a variety of core eompanies．
